UC Davis Health Ernest E. Tschannen Eye Institute

This award-winning, LEED Gold-certified facility advances eye care, research, and education through a state-of-the-art, four-story, 56,915-square-foot outpatient building and a 16,760-square-foot renovation of existing clinical space. Designed with empathy for vision-impaired patients, the institute features high-contrast finishes, natural diffused lighting, and intuitive wayfinding, along with specialized pediatric care areas. Delivered via design-build by McCarthy with HGA and TEF Design, and managed by Vanir, the project consolidates services previously spread across multiple locations—enhancing operational efficiency and supporting future growth of the Ophthalmology Department at UC Davis Health.
