City of Palo Alto Parking Structures

The City of Palo Alto Parking Structures project delivered two complementary downtown facilities that enhance access, mobility, and community connectivity. Together, the Lot R and Lot S/L garages provide 905 new parking spaces and 8,000 square feet of ground-level retail, serving both commuters and local businesses.

The Lot R garage features a five-level, post-tensioned concrete structure with stone tile and stained concrete façades, designed to blend with the existing streetscape. The Lot S/L garage includes two below-grade and five above-grade levels, highlighted by stone panel cladding, a glass elevator tower, and pedestrian-friendly design.

Constructed within Palo Alto’s active downtown district, both facilities were delivered with minimal disruption through careful phasing, community coordination, and strict adherence to the city’s architectural and sustainability standards.
