John Wayne Airport Terminal C

Elevating the Journey — A Modern Gateway for Southern California

Santa Ana, CA

McCarthy’s airport construction team expanded the Thomas F. Riley Terminal with a new 282,000-square-foot, three-level Terminal C and basement, adding to the existing 448,000 square feet of Terminals A and B. The project included renovations to the existing terminals, upgraded paging and IT systems, reconfigured gates for international and CUPPS use, and remodeled airline offices. Terminal C features six gates (including two for international flights), two commuter terminals, five new security checkpoints, three baggage carousels, and a Common Use Passenger Processing System with 142 kiosks airport-wide. Additional upgrades include 23,000 square feet of concession space with nine new restaurants and shops, along with architectural features like a barrel-vaulted ceiling, skylights, and materials that complement the existing terminals.
